The Hot Springs

Alright, I'm warning you now, it gets a little steamy here. Haha! What a horrible pun. These hot springs were so incredible though. Both Dan and I were expecting a pretty lack luster experience, but we were blown away. We first drove up to this old run down house with some most excellent hippie guys smoking out front. "Hey guys, you wanna take a soak in the tubs?" After we got inside and paid the fee we realized that we didn't have any swimsuits, we had to improvise. I just happened to bring a pair of gym shorts so we could use those, but we still lacked another "swimsuit". It was time to man-up. I let Dan use the gymshorts and I'd go in my underwear. Oh boy, this seriously was the highlight of the trip for me. Click on the pictures to view a higher resolution picture, that goes for all the pictures in the blog too, just so ya know. In the picture above you can see what happens as the water runs out of the spring over the years. It carries some kind of sediment that builds up slowly, which leaves a pretty cool formation.

Here you can see the rock slowly taking over the iron cast tub. Pretty neat, this tub was approximately 105 degrees, so it felt like any other hot tub.

This tub is on the other side of the rock formation and it was like 115 degrees so we couldn't really stay in it for longer than a minute.

HAHA! Getting ready to take a dip. Now remember, the water was way too hot in the other tub so in light of our gayness, we decided we could share a tub for awhile. Seriously though, we aren't gay.

And finally, some pictures of us just kickin' back.

It was hard to leave, but we had to get back on the road.

  1. I loved your take on the Hot Springs! I've never been there myself and what fantastic pictures. Especially the two of you in one tub with your perfectly timed comment.... "in light of our gayness, we decided we could share a tub for awhile. Seriously though, we aren't gay." NOT that there's anything wrong with that....!
